Finding Light in the Darkness: A Journey to Christ

My name is Giovanni, from the great lone star state TEXAS. God has blessed me with skills in video production, editing, and music, along with an artistic eye for expression across various media.

During my childhood, my exposure to religious teachings was limited. Not that we didn't believe in God. Just simply living in the world. I grew up with 3 sisters and my mother. Other than my heavenly father, my mother is the only person that has shown me unconditional love. I thank God for giving me such a loving, caring mother. Even as a man she continues to love, protect and care for me. Thank You, love you MOM❤️

At around 12 years old, I attended a Catholic school for one year, during which I received Catholic Communion. This brief period was the only time in my early life that I learned about God. After completing Communion, my pursuit of understanding and knowing God came to an end.

Before discovering the transformative power of faith, my life was enshrouded in darkness. I immersed myself in the world of metal music. I was a frontman of a metal band. A vocalist/guitarist finding a creative outlet in its intense rhythms and raw energy. Then as a solo artist, I channeled my emotions into dark imagery, but I gradually lost my identity, becoming increasingly consumed by the shadows I sought to express.

Depression crept in, a silent companion that seemed to amplify my feelings of being lost and without direction. No matter how much I achieved musically, a profound emptiness persisted. My life felt like a constant search for meaning that eluded me, no matter where I turned.

Amid this struggle, an unexpected turning point came when I began to seek something beyond myself. In a moment of genuine vulnerability and conviction, I prayed, not expecting much. It was then that I felt a tangible touch of God in my room, a presence so real that it shook the very foundations of my understanding. This divine encounter was the catalyst for a profound transformation.

As I continued to open my heart to God, He revealed Himself to me in ways I never imagined, bringing clarity where there had been confusion in my venture into New Age practices and light where there was once darkness. I also became aware of spiritual battles, sensing the presence of both the Holy Spirit and the reality of demons. These experiences deepened my faith and understanding of the spiritual realm.

Another pivotal moment in my journey occurred when I contracted COVID-19 in 2021. I found myself in the hospital, critically ill and on the brink of death. I was a young man with a condition like a 90 year old in poor health. In the depths of despair, I wished for the pain to end. During this pain a nurse, seeing my distress, prayed over me. As I joined in the prayer, I believe it was in that moment that God graced me with life. This life-altering experience further strengthened my resolve to know God more deeply. I had what doctors called "Long Covid." Long COVID or long-haul COVID is a group of health problems persisting or developing after an initial period of COVID-19 infection. Symptoms can last weeks, months or years and are often debilitating. During my rehabilitation to walk, talk & do all the basic things that come natural for us. I had it in my heart to read the ENTIRE BIBLE for the first time in my life!

Through God's grace, I discovered a renewed sense of purpose and direction. My journey to Christ was not just a change in belief but a complete rebirth of my identity. I found the meaning of life in serving Him and sharing my story with others who may feel lost in the darkness.

Since my walk with Christ in 2022, I have been involved in filming and photographing the BIGGEST REVIVALS in Texas! I created my Youtube Channel and Podcast "Gios Amigos" exposing darkness, sharing testimonies and in creative ways leading people to Christ. I even traveled to Nicaragua! My first mission trip and country outside the United States in 2024! I was a student now turned apprentice at Spirit House Ministry's Holy Spirit School under Freddy Ramirez. I'm also currently head media at my church, New Harvest Transformation Center in Corpus Christi, Texas!

Today, my music and media reflects my transformation, filled with hope and the light of Christ.  My life is a testament to the power of God's love to redeem, restore, and give new life to those who seek Him with an open heart.
